Meal Gift for a Military Family

Posted on March 03, 2015

No matter what time of year it is, there are members of our active duty military who are deployed globally. Often times that means they have left a family behind to hold down the fort and keep life running smoothly in their stead. Whether it’s daddy or mommy who is away, the parent keeping the home fires burning is busy.

Managing a household without the assistance of a partner that you can typically count on when they’re home is difficult. It means there are changes to be made in most daily routines and extra arrangements when there are children involved, especially if the non-military parent also works outside the home.

If you have a friend or loved one going through a deployment, consider sending them a Meal Gift to let them know that you’re thinking about them, you support them, and you’re here to help in whatever way you can - even from across the country.

Ideally you’d like to stop by your friend’s home and drop off a warm home-cooked meal to help take a load off and provide the family with some hearty and delicious sustenance. However, if your friend lives in North Carolina and you’re in Texas, that isn’t necessarily an option. Instead, order a Meal Gift to be delivered at their convenience. Mom or dad is sure to appreciate the ability to come home after a long day at work and pop a delicious meal into the oven and serve it to their family without having to take precious time out of their evening schedule to prepare a high-quality meal themselves. If the parent stays home with the kids, they’ll surely enjoy a night off from kitchen duty (at least the meal preparation portion) to spend some extra time helping school-aged kids with homework or getting a load of their own laundry taken care of amidst all the tiny socks and onesies they may have cleaned earlier in the day.

Not only does sending a Meal Gift to the family of a military member serving overseas or out of state show those on the homefront that you care, but it also sends a special message to the military member that, while they’re away, their family is being taken care of. Something so simple can really take a load off of their mind and help them stay focused on the job they are tasked with doing so far away from home.
